Footnotes
RUSSIAN REALM devoid of speed early on, saved ground at the tail of the field, tipped to the two path through the turn coming under coaxing near the quarter pole, took the inside route into upper stretch, tipped out to the three or four path a furlong out, threaded his way through rivals offering up a good finish, loosely split foes a sixteenth out before seizing command seventy yards from the finish, then prevailed edging away at the end. BRAZENLY coaxed from the start, chased along the inside down the backstretch before heading three wide through the turn coming under coaxing midway, angled six wide into upper stretch, kicked on belatedly to the finish. TIGER TWENTY FOUR chased four then three wide coming under a ride at the five-sixteenths, advanced to take command spinning two to three wide into upper stretch, edged away to the eighth pole, dug in under a drive, got collared seventy yards from the finish and ran on to preserve the show honors on the line. RANGER BATTALION bobbled at the break, chased four then three wide under a ride from three furlongs out, tipped five wide into upper stretch and kept on to the wire. BERMUDA BLITZ chased just off the inside and then along the inside under encouragement from midway on the turn, spun two to three wide for home, kept on under a drive and was out-finished in the late stages. BUTTAH buckled at the break, chased just off the inside down the backstretch before heading four wide through the turn coming under urging three furlongs from home, angled out seven to eight wide into upper stretch and passed tired rivals. DETTORI coaxed from the gate, showed the way in hand along the inside under some pressure from COMMUTED to the outside, came under coaxing near the quarter pole under threat and yielded the front before taking the inside route into upper stretch, then tired in the drive. COMMUTED coaxed from the start, prompted the pace three then two wide under urging from the five-sixteenths, tipped four wide for home, tired in the stretch. FILOSO chased six then five wide under coaxing from the seven-sixteenths marker, went six wide at the top of the stretch under a light protective hold and was eased home through to the wire, then was pulled up and vetted and subsequently transported off the course via the equine ambulance.
