CROSSINGTHECHANNEL bobbled at the start while breaking in front, moved in early then showed the way, raced inside to the two path on the turn, was asked near the five-sixteenths pole, extended the advantage into the stretch, drew off under a drive into the final furlong, remained clear into the final sixteenth, shortened stride late and just held under strong urging. WHITE SMOKE RISING broke in and hit the gate then bumped with a foe while off a step slow, settled on the outside, was urged along in the four path on the turn, raced under extra right-rein pressure into the final furlong, angled in coming to the sixteenth-pole and gained fast late to just miss but was clear for the place. BUNTUS FOCLORA was hustled from the gate then chased the pace, moved in late on the backstretch, saved ground on the turn and lacked the needed response while just able to get the show. COMPLEX CHARLIE brushed with a foe at the start then was hustled, steadied near the eleven-sixteenths pole when the winner crossed in front then switched to the outside, chased outside from that point, went around the turn in the two to three path and tired. FIGHTFORALLEGIANCE brushed with an opponent at the start, dropped well behind the rest of the field, moved from the two path to the inside on the turn and was no factor. CRUDE INTENTIONS bumped with a rival at the start, was coaxed along off the pace, dropped back while ridden along late on the backstretch, retreated in the three then two path on the turn and capitulated.
