SEQUENTIAL coaxed from the gate, advanced to take over command six and a half furlongs from home, showed the way in hand just off the inside under some pressure from PROBABILITY to the outside, had that rival advance into the turn and increase the pressure and dueled with that foe coming under coaxing five-sixteenths from home, angled five wide into upper stretch, dug in under a drive shaking off that rival a bit to lead by a half length a sixteenth out before bracing for a late bid and held gamely and stubborn to the finish to prevail. PROBABILITY led early on before being displaced by the top one, prompted that rival from the outside five paths off the rail down the backstretch, tucked in a path and advanced to duel four wide through the turn coming under encouragement with five-sixteenths remaining, angled six to seven wide into upper stretch, dug in under a drive and was shaken off a bit a sixteenth out while remaining latched on, then came again in the final strides and was rebuffed by a neck to the wire. ICE SHOT stumbled at the start, chased four wide under prolonged encouragement from the half mile pole, continued four wide into upper stretch, kept on to the end. NONNO JOE chased three to four paths off the inside down the backstretch and then just off the inside through the turn urged along from three furlongs out, spun three wide into upper stretch, weakened. NOTHINGBUTNITRO chased six to seven paths off the rail down the backstretch, tucked four wide into the turn and got ridden along with seven-sixteenths to go, cornered three to four wide at the head of the stretch, tired through to the finish.
