MAGNANIMOUS MAX brushed with a foe at the start then was hustled, moved out entering the main-track, stalked the pace on the outside, gained to make a bid with a half-mile to run, took the lead while moving from the four path to the three path on the turn, dropped to the two path while going clear late on that bend, drew away under a drive into the final furlong and proved much the best under steady urging. COME TO PAPA brushed with a rival at the start then was hustled, dropped well off the pace under urging, raced inside to the two path for most of the turn, shifted to the four path outside the quarter-pole, gained under a drive in the stretch and willingly earned the place while no match for the winner. THORSNESS broke in at the start, showed speed on the inside of foes, dropped back late on the backstretch, chased while moving from the inside to the three path on the turn, kept on willingly in the stretch and earned the show. NOGUCHI showed speed on the outside then set the pace, dropped from the two path to the inside early on the turn then lost the advantage to the winner, dropped back late on that bend and tired. UNCLE BARRIE was urged along at the rear, moved from the rail to the three path late on the turn and was no factor. BIG BROWN DELIVERS showed speed between foes, was in tight quarters passing the five-eighths pole then dropped back, retreated in the three then four path on the turn, dropped to the two path then rail late on that bend and faltered.
