ADVENTURIST dropped from the four path to the three path early on the first turn, tracked the pace on the outside, chased in the three then four path on the far turn, pursued the leader under a drive into the final furlong, gained to make a bid outside the sixteenth-pole, fought with the runner-up late and narrowly prevailed under strong urging. BARON OF SEALAND dropped from the two path to the inside early on the first turn, was placed under a vigorous hold while keen behind horses on that bend then rated off the pace, came under urging leaving the backstretch, moved from the rail to the two path early on the far turn, chased inside the winner into the final furlong, gained to make a bid outside the sixteenth-pole, fought on well to the finish and just missed while clear for second. AWESOME EMPIRE went to the front, was well rated while setting the pace on the inside, controlled the action through the far turn, was asked at the quarter-pole then came under the crop in upper stretch, led until the sixteenth-pole then was overtaken by the top two while well clear for the show.
