TAKAHAMA broke in at the start bumping ALWAYS HONEST in tandem with YOU'RE LOOKIN GOOD, chased along the inside until tipping out near the seven-sixteenths to be five wide when placed to coaxing at the three-eighths marker, tipped six wide into upper stretch, rallied to issue a challenge and seize command a furlong out, edged clear to the finish kept to task. BIG BROOKLYN got brushed at the start by CALVARY HILL due to pressure from VINNIE BANKERINO, chased three wide coming under urging at the three-eighths pole, took over command with five-sixteenths to go, spun two to three wide into upper stretch, dug in under threat and was caught a furlong out, ran on clear of the rest to be along second best. YOU'RE LOOKIN GOOD broke on top despite bobbling at the break, recovered outwards and bumped ALWAYS HONEST in concert with TAKAHAMA, chased three to four wide under a ride from three furlongs out, swung five wide into upper stretch, got taken in hand very briefly inside the three-sixteenths when TAKAHAMA came inwards safely in front, then improved position to the wire to secure the show honors. ALWAYS HONEST got bumped between foes at the start, chased five then four wide under encouragement from midway on the turn, cornered four wide into upper stretch, weakened. CALVARY HILL got brushed at the break by VINNIE BANKERINO and in turn brushed BIG BROOKLYN, showed the way in hand just off the inside coming under urging at the three-eighths marker, yielded the front with five-sixteenths to go, spun just off the inside into upper stretch and tired. VINNIE BANKERINO broke out at the start brushing CALVARY HILL who in turn brushed BIG BROOKLYN, chased along the inside ridden along with seven-sixteenths remaining, went just off the inside into upper stretch, faltered, and was eased home through to the finish. There was a Jockey's Objection by the rider of YOU'RE LOOKIN GOOD against TAKAHAMA alleging interference in the stretch inside the three-sixteenths pole. After review, the objection was dismissed and the result was allowed to stand prior to the race being declared official.
