WHISKEY N SODA chased just off the inside coming under encouragement three furlongs out, angled five wide into upper stretch, rallied to take command a furlong out, tussled with the runner up to the sixteenth marker, then inched away in the late stages to prevail. BOB JOHN RAY coaxed from the gate, raced three then two wide forwardly placed, settled four then three wide in pursuit in closest aim of the leader, came under coaxing at the seven-sixteenths marker, advanced through the turn taking command spinning just off the inside into upper stretch, dug in under a drive and was caught a furlong out, fought on latched on to the sixteenth marker, then got steadily shaken off late while well clear of the rest and along second best. HOURS IN A DAY coaxed from the start, raced three then two wide through the first turn, chased three then four wide under a ride from the three-eighths marker, angled five to six wide into upper stretch and improved position to the finish. CONFABULATION coaxed from the gate, showed the way in hand just off the inside through the first turn and then two to three wide down the backstretch, went just off the inside through the far turn and came under pressure nearing the quarter pole, yielded swinging three wide for home, tired. BREW PUB raced just off the inside through the first turn before heading five paths off the inside into the backstretch, remained five wide through the far turn coaxed along from the seven-sixteenths pole, tipped seven wide into upper stretch and tired. MR. RIPPLE coaxed from the gate, chased along the inside under a ride from three furlongs out, angled three to four wide into upper stretch and faltered in the drive. HEY TOBY three wide through the first turn, chased five then four wide under urging from the seven-sixteenths, spun six wide for home, gave way and was eased home to the finish.
