DR. MERCILESS went to the front, set the pace under some pressure to the outside, shook clear late on the backstretch, raced inside on the turn, responded well when roused into upper stretch and drew off under steady urging. KILLYBEGS KID was urged along off the pace, paused off heels leaving the backstretch then dropped from the two path to the inside, saved ground into the stretch and safely secured the place. GREY ACE pressed the pace on the outside, dropped back some late on the backstretch, chased in the three then two path on the turn and weakened while able to get the show. CAT FAST was ridden along off the pace, moved out leaving the backstretch, dropped from the three path to the two path on the turn and improved for the last spot in the superfecta. ASTERN COMMAND was urged along off the pace, checked in tight quarters off heels leaving the backstretch, saved ground on the turn and failed to threaten. DAW SAMAA chased the pace from fourth, dropped back in the two to three path on the turn and lacked the needed response. THE HERO CODE dropped back while ridden along, traveled around the turn in the five path and failed to threaten. SOLO FLIGHT was urged along well off the pace, raced in the three path on the turn and showed little. PERFECT SHEPHARD chased the pace on the outside, dropped back fast in the four path on the turn and retreated.
