Footnotes
NEW YORK SCRAPPY was hustled to the front then showed the way with a clear advantage, dictated terms in the two path on the turn, responded well when asked outside the quarter-pole, extended the advantage into the final furlong and proved much the best while kept to the task. TYPHOON FURY chased the pace on the outside, dropped from the four path to the three path early on the turn, pursued the winner under a drive in the stretch and earned the place. FREE DANCE was hustled from the gate then urged along off the pace, saved ground on the turn, turned into upper stretch under a drive and missed the place while narrowly able to get the show. GOLDEN PLATE was hustled from the gate then ridden along off the pace, went around the turn in the three then four path and lacked the needed response then just missed the show. PLATFORM was urged along on the outside, dropped from the four path to the two path early on the turn, swung out to the six path into upper stretch and failed to threaten. REGISTER chased the pace, dropped back in the three then two path on the turn and failed to respond.
