J J'S RANGER was hustled from the gate, moved in while going to the front, went clear outside the three-quarter pole, extended the advantage in the three then four path on the turn, was roused into upper stretch and drew off under steady urging. MISTER HOLDEN settled in third position, was asked in the two path on the turn, moved to the three path late on that bend, chased the winner in the stretch and proved no match while just able to hold the place. KNOX lacked early speed, raced inside to the two path on the turn and improved to just miss the place while clear for the show. CENTAVO tossed his head and was off a bit slow, raced on the outside while ridden along, moved closer in the five path on the turn, remained on his inside lead until just inside the furlong marker then swapped to the proper lead and lacked the needed response. BECAUSE THE NIGHT raced well back in the field, moved from the rail to the two path on the turn, spun into the stretch in the three path and failed to threaten. POT OF GOLD broke out and brushed with a foe, was urged along on the outside, went around the turn in the four path and came up empty. MIDNIGHT TROUBLE brushed with rivals on both sides at the start then dropped back, went around the turn in the three then four path, turned into the stretch in the six path and was no factor. PRINCE OF JOY brushed with an opponent at the start, moved in while showing speed then tracked the pace, chased inside on the turn and capitulated. NOBODYRIDESFORFREE settled under some urging, dropped back while inside to the three path on the turn and failed to respond.
