KOMOREBINO OMOIDE (JPN) brushed the off side stall at the start lightly, led early on before being engaged in head to head combat by PHILEAS FOGG seven furlongs from home, dueled five paths off the rail down the backstretch and then three wide through the turn coming under coaxing with five-sixteenths remaining, swung five wide into upper stretch, dug in under threat and came out slightly under a left handed crop and brushed with YO DADDY inside the eighth pole, then gamely rebuffed that challenge before edging away to the wire. YO DADDY hustled from the gate, chased just off the inside until tipped to the four path near the half mile pole, went four wide through the turn coming under encouragement at the five-sixteenths marker, angled six wide into upper stretch, dug in under a drive issuing a challenge a furlong out, got brushed by the top one inside that juncture, then got repelled inside the final sixteenth while well clear of the remaining rival. PHILEAS FOGG hustled from the start, dueled three then two wide with KOMOREBINO OMOIDE to his outside, came under urging midway on the turn and in the midst of being shaken off when spinning just off the inside into upper stretch, faltered in the drive and was eased home through the final furlong to the finish.
