MEZCALIFORNIA broke a bit awkwardly but in the front half of the field then was hustled, chased the pace, made a bid outside of the leader near the nine-sixteenths pole, vied in the three path on the turn, was roused outside the quarter-pole, took the lead into the stretch, battled outside of the runner-up into the final furlong, disposed of that foe coming to the sixteenth-pole and edged clear under steady handling. TRUTHORCONSEQUENCE broke alertly and went straight to the front, showed the way down the backstretch, dropped from the two path to the inside midway through the turn, was asked under threat outside the five-sixteenths pole, lost the advantage to the winner into the stretch, fought with that foe into the final furlong, dropped back into the final sixteenth and weakened but held the place. CURRENT CLIMATE was hustled from the gate, tracked the early pace, dropped back near the nine-sixteenths pole, was roused in the two path on the turn, turned into upper stretch under a drive and finished willingly for the show. CAROLINA SMOKESHOW was hustled from the gate then drifted in early, raced against the rail while coaxed along, saved ground while chasing on the turn, lugged in along the rail in the stretch and weakened. QUICK POWER NAP settled at the rear, was roused late on the backstretch, moved from the rail to the three path on the turn, swung out to the five path into the stretch and failed to threaten. ANOTHER CLEESHAY was forwardly placed on the outside, chased in the four path on the turn, dropped back into upper stretch, drifted in inside the furlong marker and tired.
