LOOMS BOLDLY was hustled from the gate, established a good position just off the pace, saved ground while asked on the turn, came out into upper stretch then drifted out some, pursued the runner-up on the outside into the final sixteenth, gained on that foe late and got up to narrowly prevail. STEWIE broke very fast and went straight to the front, angled in early while showing the way, went around the turn in the two path, was asked near the quarter-pole, came under a left-handed crop in upper stretch, led until the final strides but was caught while well clear for the place. TIMAEUS raced just off the pace on the inside of an opponent, chased in the two then three path on the turn, dropped back late on that bend, was driven into the stretch in the four path then moved further out and came up empty. CATCH THE SMOKE was ridden along at the rear of the field, traveled around the turn in the two path and failed to threaten. BRAVE BEAR chased the pace on the outside, dropped back in the three then four path on the turn, spun into the stretch in the five path then moved further out and capitulated.
