Footnotes
SHADOW DRAGON was hustled from the gate, raced in the three path for most of the first turn then dropped to the two path, prompted the pace on the outside, turned up the pressure on the leader in the three path on the far turn, took the advantage late on that bend, responded well when put to a drive in upper stretch, fought gamely to the finish and narrowly prevailed. BARON OF SEALAND was hustled from the gate, brushed with a rival early, raced in the two path under stout restraint on the first turn, was rated just off the pace, came under urging leaving the backstretch, moved from the two path to the four path on the far turn, dropped inward in upper stretch, chased into the final furlong, gained into the final sixteenth and closed with good courage to just miss while up for the place. LEFTEMBEHIND went around the first turn in the two then three path, settled off the pace, was roused while moving from the three path to the five path on the far turn, was driven into upper stretch in the six path and finished with good energy but missed while up for the show. ALAN TURING went around most of the first turn in the four path then dropped to the three path, stalked the pace on the outside, was asked leaving the backstretch, chased in the four path on the turn then spun into upper stretch in the five path, kept on in pursuit of the vanguard in the drive and finished willingly for the last spot in the superfecta. CONCORDE SPIRIT was sent hard to the front, dropped from the two path to the inside late on the first turn, showed the way on the inside of an opponent, was asked with a half-mile to run, vied in the two path under urging on the far turn, lost the advantage late on that bend, fought on well into the final sixteenth then weakened late. CICCIOBELLO was hustled from the gate then brushed with a foe early, saved ground on the first turn, was well placed just off the pace, moved from the rail to the three path while roused for more on the far turn, spun into upper stretch in the four path and came up empty. REFUAH was hustled from the gate, dropped from the four path to the inside early on the first turn, settled at the back, saved ground while roused on the far turn and failed to rally.
