Footnotes
GOLDEN PLATE moved up after the start to prompt the pace on the outside of the leader while well out in the track, dropped from the five path to the three path early on the turn, was asked later on that bend, spun into the stretch in the four path then was carried out, gained the advantage just inside the the three-sixteenths pole, fought outside of a foe into the final furlong, shook clear outside the sixteenth-pole and held under steady urging. AIRBORNE ELITE was hustled from the gate, chased the pace down the backstretch, dropped back into the turn, moved from the two path to the three path under strong urging on that bend, was driven into the stretch in the four path, dropped in inside the three-sixteenths pole, gained into the final sixteenth and showed good courage to safely secure the place. TAPIZAR'S TEMPER was hustled from the gate, settled off the early pace, passed the five-eighths pole under urging, dropped back leaving the backstretch, traveled around the turn in the three then four path, was driven into the stretch in the five path and lacked the needed kick while just able to get the show. WAKE SURF was hustled to the front, showed the way down the backstretch, was given his cue in the two path on the turn, spun into the stretch in the three path then drifted out under a left-handed crop, lost the advantage to the winner just inside the three-sixteenths pole, drifted in under a right-handed crop outside the sixteenth-pole and weakened. BLAME IT ON DADDY lacked early speed, moved out under urging near the seven-eighths pole, went around the turn in the four then five path, spun into the stretch in the six path, angled in at the three-sixteenths pole, raced along the rail in the final furlong and lacked the needed response.
