GALLANT ONE was hustled from the gate, showed speed between horses then pressed the pace on the outside of the leader, vied in the three path on the turn, took the advantage at the top of the stretch, kicked clear near the three-sixteenths pole, drew away under a drive into the final sixteenth then was eased up late while much the best. TWENTY ONE RED settled off the pace, moved closer with five furlongs to run, was roused in the two path on the turn, swung out to the four path into the stretch, pursued the winner under a drive into the final furlong and proved no match while well clear for the place. MACH SCHNELL showed speed then set the pace under pressure to his outside, dropped from the two path to the inside early on the turn then was asked, lost the advantage to the winner at the top of the stretch, moved out around the furlong marker and tired while clear for the show. EYE ON THE BALL was hustled from the gate, showed speed then tracked the pace on the outside, was roused in the four path on the turn, chased into the stretch and capitulated. PILOT KNOB broke a bit awkwardly but with the field, dropped back under urging on the outside, moved from the five path to the four path early on the turn, spun into the stretch in the five path and was no factor. CALVARY HILL was urged along off the pace, tossed his head and lost position leaving the backstretch, saved ground on the turn, moved to the two path outside the quarter-pole and failed to respond.
