Footnotes
SHELLAC was quick to take the lead, set the pace from off the rail, drifted into upper stretch, was asked at the three-sixteenths, was much the best. CHIPS AND FISH settled off the pace, was within range outside four wide on the turn, shifted in a bit in upper stretch, was no match for the winner. SENOR PONCHO chased from outside going three wide on the turn, came out further at the top of the stretch, failed to menace. GREY ACE came in a bit at the start, chased the eventual winner from inside, came out a bit past the five-sixteenths, came back in once in upper stretch, was unable to rally. PLEX was forced in a bit at the start, switched out off the rail, chased in behind in the two to three path early and on the turn, failed to make a bid. ASTERN COMMAND lacked early speed bringing up the rear, saved ground on the turn, came out for the stretch, was never near enough to threaten.
