CAROLINA SMOKESHOW broke in at the start, moved out near the five-eighths pole then chased the pace on the outside, gained to make a bid late on the backstretch, vied in the three path on the turn, took the lead outside the quarter-pole, shook clear while lugging inward in upper stretch, drifted to the rail in front of the runner-up at the eighth-pole, responded well while continuing to lug in some in the final furlong and prevailed under steady urging. TRUTHORCONSEQUENCE angled in while going to the front, was asked in the two path on the turn, lost the advantage outside the quarter-pole, fought inside of the winner in upper stretch, checked when shut-off by that foe at the eighth-pole, kept on in pursuit in the final furlong and secured the place. CARARRA dropped well back while urged along on the outside, rounded the turn in the four path, turned into the stretch in the five path and improved to get the show. SHADYSIDE was urged along well back in the field, traveled around the turn in the three path, was driven into the stretch in the four path and failed to threaten. ELEGANT was hustled from the gate, chased the pace, moved out inside the five-eighths pole, went around the turn in the two path under strong urging and tired. ANOTHER CLEESHAY was urged along towards the rear, saved ground on the turn and failed to respond. FOLLOWING THE RACE, THE RIDER OF TRUTHORCONSEQENCE CLAIMED FOUL AGAINST THE WINNER. THERE WAS ALSO A STEWARDS' INQUIRY POSTED. AFTER THE REVIEW, NO CHANGE WAS MADE TO THE ORDER OF FINISH
