WONDER MIST pressed the pace on the outside, took a short lead in the three path midway through the turn, was roused late on that bend, battled outside of the runner-up under a drive into the final furlong, disposed of that foe outside the sixteenth-pole and drew clear under steady urging. SOUTHEASTERN was hustled from the gate, showed the way down the backstretch, vied along the rail on the turn, lost the lead with three furlongs to run, battled with the winner under a drive into the final furlong and proved no match while clear for the place. FIRST BLESSING was away alertly, showed speed then chased the pace, went around the turn in the two path, turned into upper stretch under a drive and weakened while clear for the show. THE TOY CANNON was hustled from the gate, showed speed between horses, dropped back then moved out before the five-eighths pole, chased on the outside, went around the turn in the four path, remained on his inside lead until the furlong marker then swapped to the proper lead and came up empty. SLAY SADIE SLAY leaned out at the start, was taken up in tight after the break and dropped back, settled at the rear, was urged along in the three then four path on the turn, spun into the stretch in the five path and failed to respond.
