MAGNI moved out some while settling off the pace, dropped in later on the backstretch, drafted inside on the turn, was asked turning into the stretch, rallied to make a bid along the rail outside the furlong marker, gained the lead just inside that marker, shook clear outside the sixteenth-pole and prevailed under a strong hand-ride to the finish. TAPWRITS TEMPER was off slow and spotted the front a few lengths, angled out then was ridden along on the outside, moved closer late on the backstretch, rallied in the four path on the turn, closed well to get a narrow lead in upper stretch, lost the advantage to the winner just inside the furlong marker and was outfinished while just able to get the place. MAJESTIC ARC went to the front, showed the way on the outside of an opponent, moved clear with five furlongs to run, shifted from the rail to the two path on the turn, was asked near the quarter-pole, lost the advantage narrowly to the runner-up in upper stretch, battled with two foes into the final furlong and was also outfinished then just missed the place but was clear for the show. MONTE AVI pressed the pace on the inside of a rival, dropped back nearing the five-eighths pole then switched to the outside, chased the leader from that point, went around the turn in the two then three path, was driven into upper stretch in the four path and weakened. DAT DARES RIGHT tracked the pace on the outside, chased in the three then four path on the turn, spun into upper stretch in the five path and came up empty. ESSENTIALLY FAST was urged along near the back, moved from the three path to the five path on the turn, turned into upper stretch in the six path and faltered then was eased in the final furlong but walked off. This race had a timing discrepancy and was retimed using video technology to arrive at the most accurate times available.
