Footnotes
XCEL bobbled at the start recovering outwards and bumping CROWBAR ARTIST in concert with GO DHARMA, who broke inwards, raced in closest aim of the leader five then four paths off the inside down the backstretch before advancing tucked three wide through the turn to duel from the three-eighths marker coming under urging near the five-sixteenths pole, spun three wide into upper stretch, took over narrow command with three-sixteenths to go, then drew clear under a drive. RESTLESS RENEGADE coaxed from the gate, showed the way in hand just off the inside, tucked inside briefly three furlongs out and was confronted inside that juncture in head to head combat by the top one, came under encouragement at the five-sixteenths marker in response, spun just off the inside into upper stretch, yielded the front with three-sixteenths to go, proved no match for the top one while running on well clear of the rest and along second best. GO DHARMA broke in at the start bumping CORWBAR ARTIST in tandem with XCEL, chased six to seven paths off the rail down the backstretch and then four wide through the turn under urging with seven-sixteenths remaining, tipped four to five wide into upper stretch, tired while along for the show honors. CHESS MATCH chased three to four paths off the rail down the backstretch, tucked to the two path placed to prolonged coaxing at the half mile pole, made his way to the rail midway on the turn, cornered just off the inside into upper stretch and tired. CROWBAR ARTIST got bumped between foes who each broke his way at the break and was forced to steady at the start conceding four to five lengths to the front before settling into stride, chased along the inside and then just off the inside under motivation from three furlongs out, angled four to five wide for home and tired in the stretch.
