MEZCALIFORNIA was allowed to settle into a comfortable stride, went around the turn in the two path, was guided close to the inside turning into upper stretch, rallied inside of foes into the final furlong, closed strongly to get the lead just inside the sixteenth-pole then went clear under good handling. MURSAL settled on the far outside, gained in the five then four path on the turn, chased outside in the stretch and finished willingly to just get the place. BRZINA was sent hard from the gate, moved up to get the lead with six furlongs to run, vied inside of a rival while in the two path on the turn, led under a drive into the final sixteenth then was overtaken and just lost the place but was clear for the show. DESPO'S DREAM was urged along off the pace, chased in the four path on the turn, was driven into the stretch in the five path and lacked the needed response. JACKSON'S DIXIE showed speed then pressed the pace on the outside, vied in the three path on the turn, turned into upper stretch on even terms for the lead, battled under a drive into the final furlong and weakened. PRINCESS BECCA was well placed down the backstretch, chased inside on the turn, came out into upper stretch and faltered.
