MOONLIGHT DRIVE coaxed from the gate, cleared the field and crossed to the inside to show the way in hand down the backstretch, remained along the rail through the turn patiently handled until called upon taking the inside route into upper stretch, edged away to the eighth pole, dug in and held well to score. KIRKWOOD coaxed from the start, chased two to three paths off the inside down the backstretch before tucking inside three furlongs from home, spun two to three wide into upper stretch, offered up a mild kick and was along clear of the rest and second best. DEACON BLUES broke on top and settled five to six paths off the inside down the backstretch in pursuit from mid pack, tucked three wide through the turn and came under encouragement with five-sixteenths to go, angled six to seven wide into upper stretch, kicked on belatedly to procure the show honors. PEYTON got bumped at the start by TWIRLING LAD and in turn bumped ARISTIDE MAILLOL, chased three then two wide under a ride from the five-sixteenths marker, swung four wide for home and weakened in the late stages. DINGHY BAR coaxed from the gate, chased two then three wide under urging from three furlongs out, angled six wide into upper stretch, passed tired rivals. ARISTIDE MAILLOL got bumped at the start by PEYTON due to pressure from TWIRLING LAD, chased four paths off the inside down the backstretch and then just off the inside through the turn under encouragement from the five-sixteenths pole, angled five to six wide into upper stretch, weakened. POPPY'S TICKET coaxed from the start, chased along the inside under a ride from the three-eighths pole, cut the corner into upper stretch, made no impact. SPEIGHTFUL STORM chased four paths off the rail down the backstretch before tucking to the two path placed to urging three furlongs out, spun two to three wide into upper stretch and tired. TWIRLING LAD broke out at the start bumping PEYTON into ARISTIDE MAILLOL, chased along the inside in closest aim of the leader early on, came under coaxing nearing the quarter pole, spun just off the inside into upper stretch, then tired through to the end.
