Footnotes
BELLE OF THE BALL settled off the pace, moved out under coaxing near the seven-eighths pole, was urged four then five wide on the turn, rallied outside to make a bid in upper stretch then took a short lead, shook clear just inside the furlong marker and drew away under steady urging. LA GROTTE tracked the pace on the outside, was given her cue in the two then three path on the turn, made a bid at the five-sixteenths pole, turned into upper stretch under a drive, battled into the final furlong and earned the place while no match for the winner. DUCKPHAT dropped back while showing no early speed, was urged along at the rear, saved ground on the turn, turned into the stretch under the crop and got up for the show. BLOME was eased back then settled on the outside, chased in the three then four path on the turn, turned into upper stretch under a drive, moved out outside the furlong marker and lacked the needed kick then just missed the show. PERPETUAL PRAISE went to the front then moved clear with five furlongs to run, vied inside on the turn, was asked under threat near the five-sixteenths pole, came off the inside into the stretch, lost the advantage inside the three-sixteenths, dropped back into the final furlong and gave way.
