Footnotes
FUNNY FACTOR steadied behind a dropping back foe nearing the five-eighths pole, angled in towards the rear, dropped from the two path to the inside while getting closer early on the turn, was roused in the two path into the stretch, moved out some more while rallying into the final furlong and closed strongly to get up late and narrowly prevail. BURNING BRIDGES pressed the pace on the outside, vied in the three then two path on the turn, dueled with THREE THIRTEEN in the stretch, led into the final sixteenth and narrowly bested that foe for the place but was denied by the winner. THREE THIRTEEN was away alertly, angled in while going to the front, showed the way on the inside of an opponent, dropped from the two path to the inside early on the turn, dueled with the runner-up in the stretch and just missed while able to get the show. LAWYER MASON dropped back soon after the start then settled near the back, rounded the turn in the two path, was asked at the quarter-pole, chased under a drive into the final furlong, gained behind horses into the final sixteenth, altered out late then swapped back to his inside lead and finished with good energy for the last spot in the superfecta. CERRO RICO was off slow and spotted the front a few lengths, settled on the far outside, tucked from the five path to the three path early on the turn, turned into upper stretch under a drive, angled out outside the furlong marker and gained some but missed the superfecta. ON THE LEDGE showed speed then was taken in hand near the five-eighths pole, was well placed just off the pace, saved ground on the turn, waited from the quarter-pole into upper stretch, was roused inside the three-sixteenths pole, chased into the final furlong, raced behind horses outside the sixteenth-pole but failed to go forward late and lacked the needed kick. TAKE A STANCE showed speed then was taken in hand near the five-eighths pole, raced just off the pace, passed the nine-sixteenths pole between horses, drafted in the two path on the turn, shifted to the four path while roused into upper stretch and lacked the needed response. SCARAMANGA angled in early then dropped back quickly nearing the five-eighths pole, moved out then gained on the leaders, chased in the four then three path on the turn, spun into upper stretch in the five path and also lacked the needed response. CHUMMERS settled at the rear, moved from the rail to the three path on the turn and was no factor.
