Footnotes
ANTONIO OF VENICE showed speed then pressed the pace on the outside of the leader, drew even with that opponent in the two then three path on the turn, took a short lead late on that bend, spun into the stretch in the three path then shook clear, responded well in the final furlong and held under strong urging. PAIR OF SOCKS bobbled at the start but broke towards the front, was urged along just off the pace, moved from the rail to the two path on the turn, came out to the four path into upper stretch, chased the winner to the finish and narrowly earned the place. OIL CAPITAL was off slow and spotted the front a couple lengths, raced towards the back under urging, moved out late on the backstretch, chased in the four then five path on the turn, was driven into upper stretch in the six path, pursued the winner while outside of the runner-up into the final sixteenth and weakened late but was clear for the show. MY MITOLE was urged along on the outside, went around the turn in the three then four path, came out to the seven path into upper stretch and lacked the needed response. PRIVATE DESIRE was hustled from the gate, stalked the pace on the outside, chased in the three then four path on the turn, was taken in hand while in the five path into upper stretch, came back under urging inside the three-sixteenths pole and failed to respond. BOSTONTONIAN broke out at the start, moved up to get the lead then set the pace under pressure to his outside, vied along the rail on the turn, lost the advantage late on that bend, dropped back into upper stretch and tired.
