Footnotes
BOB JOHN RAY was hustled from the gate, contested the pace on the inside, was asked outside the half-mile pole, vied inside under urging on the far turn, came under the crop late on that bend, spun off the rail into the stretch, dueled inside of the runner-up in the drive and prevailed under strong urging. PEEK raced in the three path for most of the first turn then shifted to the four path, moved up outside the leaders onto the backstretch, backed off the pace inside the three-quarter pole then tracked the leaders, was urged along late on the backstretch, made a bid in the four then three path on the far turn, dueled outside of the winner in the stretch and missed while well clear for the place. COMMANDPERFORMANCE was urged along early, saved ground on the first turn, lagged at the back under encouragement, moved from the rail to the three path late on the far turn and lacked the needed response while best of the rest. WINTER'S GHOST established a forward position, raced in the two path on the first turn, contested the pace between horses, was urged along while two path to the inside on the far turn and tired. O P FIRECRACKER went around most of the first turn in the two path then shifted to the three path, advanced onto the backstretch then contested the pace on the outside, vied in the three then two path on the far turn, dropped back outside the five-sixteenths pole and capitulated.
