Footnotes
RIDGEWOOD RUNNER showed speed and led early, was challenged to his inside with six furlongs to run, vied in the three then two path early on the turn, moved clear outside the five-sixteenths pole then dropped to the rail, responded well when asked near the quarter-pole and drew off under a strong drive to prove much the best. KNOX settled towards the rear, moved closer while saving ground on the turn, was shuffled back some behind a fading TABEGUACHE near the five-sixteenths pole, moved to the two path outside the quarter-pole, dropped back in while asked for his best in upper stretch and just got up for the place. CICCIOBELLO settled on the outside, gained under urging in the five then four path on the turn, chased the winner into upper stretch and proved no match then just lost the place while narrowly able to get the show. NOTED lunged at the start and was off a step slow, was urged along off the pace, dropped from the three path to the two path on the turn, turned into the stretch in the three path then moved further out and lacked the needed response then just missed the trifecta. TABEGUACHE was hustled from the gate, moved up under urging with six furlongs to run, contested the pace on the inside of the winner, shifted from the two path to the rail early on the turn, dropped back near the five-sixteenths pole and faded. VINSANITY moved out early then tracked the pace, chased in the four then three path on the turn, dropped back outside the five-sixteenths pole and faltered.
