Footnotes
UNION EXPRESS was well placed down the backstretch, saved ground on the turn, was roused near the five-sixteenths pole, moved out under a drive in upper stretch, rallied while remaining on his inside lead into the final furlong, closed well to get the advantage in the final sixteenth, remained on his inside lead to the finish and prevailed under strong urging. PRINCE OF DANCE broke through the front of the gate prior to the start but remained in the stall, stalked the pace on the outside of the leader, was asked in the two to three path on the turn, chased into upper stretch, made a bid outside the furlong marker, battled with rivals into the final sixteenth, fought between horses late and missed while narrowly able to get the place. THE BOONDOCKER was hustled from the gate then angled in while going to the front, vied near the inside on the turn, was roused around the quarter-pole, led under a drive into the final sixteenth but was caught then just missed the place while able to get the show. LAST MAN STANDING broke out at the start, was forwardly placed on the outside, chased in the four path on the turn, pursued the leader in the stretch and was out-kicked. NANTZ broke out and hit the gate, was urged along on the outside, went around the turn in the four then five path, chased into upper stretch and weakened. SOBIESKI was bumped at the start and carried in then pinched back, moved from the rail to the two path on the turn and lacked the needed response. LAIRD OF MAGNOLIA was urged along towards the back, went around the turn in the three then four path, turned into the stretch in the five path and failed to rally. MACKVILLE bumped with a foe at the start, tracked the pace, dropped back leaving the backstretch, was urged along in the three path on the turn and tired.
