SHADOW SURGE was restless in the gate, broke out and brushed the gate then was hustled, showed speed then set the pace, moved to a solo lead late on the backstretch, extended the advantage while inside on the turn, was given his cue inside the five-sixteenths pole, came under the crop in upper stretch, drew off into the final furlong and maintained a save advantage under strong urging. SPIRIT DRAGON was hustled from the gate then chased the pace on the outside, dropped back leaving the backstretch, went around the turn in the four path, was driven into the stretch in the five path and finished willingly for the place. DARK VECTOR dropped well behind and was urged along at the rear, saved ground for most of the turn then shifted to the three path, came out to the five path near the quarter-pole then moved further out and improved for the show. READY SET TWIRL was hustled from the gate, showed speed between horses then chased the pace, moved from the two path to the three path on the turn, spun into the stretch in the four path, remained on his inside lead in the drive and lacked the needed response. PANDEMIC HERO showed speed then pressed the pace, chased late on the backstretch, dropped from the three path to the two path on the turn, pursued the winner into the stretch and tired. MCDIESEL was urged along towards the rear, traveled around the turn in the two path and failed to rally. TAPWRITS TEMPER stood a bit impatiently in the gate, was away awkwardly then angled out early, raced on the outside under urging, rounded the turn in the five path, spun into upper stretch in the seven path and failed to respond.
