EXCELLORATOR tracked the pace on the outside, chased in the four path on the turn, turned into upper stretch under a drive, pursued the leader into the final furlong, gained into the final sixteenth and got up late to narrowly prevail. CELESTIAL GLAZE prompted the pace on the inside, took the lead outside the nine-sixteenths pole, moved clear leaving the backstretch, controlled the action in the two then three path on the turn, was asked for his best in upper stretch, led into the final sixteenth but was caught while clear for the place. SHATTUCK settled on the outside, was urged along in the five path on the turn, turned into upper stretch under a drive and finished willingly for the show. CHILENO settled towards the rear, was urged along passing the five-eighths pole, saved ground on the turn and lacked the needed response. GUNNER BAY went to the front, lost the lead outside the nine-sixteenths pole, chased in the three then four path on the turn and tired.
