Footnotes
TARPAULIN was urged along towards the rear, went around most of the turn in the two path, tipped to the three path briefly inside the five-sixteenths pole then dropped back to the two path, moved in some into upper stretch, rallied along the rail into the final furlong and closed strongly to get up late and prevail. NEW YORK SCRAPPY disputed the pace on the outside then in the two path on the turn, moved to a solo lead with three furlongs to run then went clear, responded well when asked for his best in upper stretch, drifted out some while shortening stride outside the sixteenth-pole, led into the final sixteenth but was caught while able to hold the place. APOLLO CODE angled out under urging early then chased the pace, went around the turn in the three path, was driven into the stretch in the four path under the crop, drifted out under a left-handed crop outside the furlong marker, drifted in outside the sixteenth-pole and finished willingly for the show. EGYPTIAN broke out and bumped with a rival, settled well back under some urging, moved from the rail to the three path on the turn, was driven into the stretch in the five path and improved willingly to get the last spot in the superfecta. COME FULL CIRCLE was last to commence, settled near the back on the outside under some urging, came under stronger encouragement in the three to four path on the turn, turned into the stretch in the six path and gained but failed to menace. THREE LITTLE BIRDS broke out a bit at the start, was urged along on the outside, moved in nearing the five-eighths pole then shifted back out around then nine-sixteenths marker, went around the turn in the four then five path, spun into the stretch in the six path and lacked the needed response. EL PACO was hustled from the gate, disputed the pace on the inside of a foe, vied along the rail on the turn, dropped back midway through that bend, shifted to the two path outside the quarter-pole, chased in the three path into the stretch and tired. CAPT JAX PARROW bumped with a rival at the start, showed no speed, saved ground on the turn, came off the rail outside the quarter-pole then entered the stretch in the three path, remained on his inside lead in the drive and was no factor.
