PLAYA DEL MAR was hustled from the gate, prompted the pace on the outside of the leader, took the advantage in the three path early on the turn, dropped to the two path while moving clear late on that bend, responded well when asked at the top of the stretch, drew off under a drive until outside the sixteenth-pole then was geared down while much the best. COCKTAILSNKRINGLE was off slow and spotted the front a few lengths, settled on the outside, dropped in while getting closer inside the three-quarter pole, was roused in the four path on the turn and safely secured the place while no match for the winner. HOURS IN A DAY was hustled to the front, showed the way on the inside of foes, lost the lead while inside early on the turn, dropped back late on that bend and weakened but was clear for the show. TURN AND COUNT was urged along early at the back, moved closer inside the three-quarter pole, was roused while inside on the turn and lacked the needed response. REFUAH dropped back early, moved in while getting closer inside the three-quarter pole, shifted from the three path to the five path under urging on the turn, spun into the stretch in the six path and failed to respond. OATH OF OMERTA was restless in the gate, stalked the pace on the outside, made a bid near the seven-sixteenths pole, was urged along in the four path for most of the turn then dropped to the three path, came out in upper stretch and capitulated. J J'S RANGER was hustled from the gate, established a good position just off the pace, was asked in the two path on the turn, dropped back in the four path into the stretch and faltered.
