PHILEAS FOGG coaxed from the gate, showed the way in hand just off the inside, slipped away through the latter portion of the far turn and continued just off the inside into upper stretch, drew off under light hand urging to inside the eighth pole, then got taken in hand just outside the sixteenth marker and prevailed comfortably on the wire. WARP NINE three wide through the first turn, chased five then four wide under a ride from three furlongs out, cornered four wide into upper stretch, proved no match for the top one while keeping on to secure the place honors clear of the rest. OTELLO three wide through the first turn, chased four then three wide under a ride from the five-sixteenths marker, spun three wide into upper stretch, weakened. LE GRIS broke in at the start carrying in PAY BILLY, chased just off the inside and then along the inside lightly coaxed along from the half mile pole, went just off the inside into upper stretch and weakened. PAY BILLY got carried in at the start by LE GRIS, who broke inwards, and was briefly coaxed, chased two to three wide under prolonged coaxing from the half mile pole, spun three wide into upper stretch and tired.
