MERMAID showed the way in hand along the inside through sensible splits patiently handled until placed to coaxing nearing the quarter pole, spun three wide into upper stretch, came in slightly to the two path a furlong out and then closer to the inside just after, held well and clear to the finish kept to task. BATTLE WINNER got bumped at the start by TIZ THE LADY, tracked the pace along the inside coming under coaxing near the quarter pole, cut the corner into upper stretch roused for the drive, tipped off the rail just inside the eighth pole clear of rivals and shied under a left handed crop coming out two paths which in turn forced LOVEONTHELEFTBANK to alter a path out, ran on to secure the place honors safely over a pair of rivals on the line. TIZ THE LADY broke out at the start bumping BATTLE WINNER, saved ground near the rear of the field patiently handled until set down angled three wide into upper stretch, offered up a mild kick. LOVEONTHELEFTBANK broke out a step at the start and was corrected, raced three wide through the first turn, settled in pursuit three then two wide coming under a ride nearing the quarter pole, angled five wide into upper stretch, dug in under a drive altering out a path near the sixteenth pole when BATTLE WINNER tipped out and then shied out and offered up a mild bid. JUST TELL ANNE tracked the front just off the inside from near the rear of the field, remained on hold until let out angled six wide at the top of the stretch, improved position to the finish. LAYLANI LOU two to three wide in closest aim of the leader, came under encouragement with five-sixteenths to go, tipped three to four wide into upper stretch, weakened in the late stages. PLAYING GAMES just off the inside through the first turn, chased three wide patiently handled until set down angled nine wide into upper stretch, made no headway. PAY THE BILLS (FR) broke a half a beat slow and lunged at the start getting away last, raced three wide through the first turn and then three to four paths off the inside down the backstretch, continued three wide through the far turn under urging from the three-eighths marker, angled five wide for home and weakened in the stretch. There was a Stewards' Inquiry into the stretch run focusing on BATTLE WINNER and LOVEONTHELEFTBANK. After review, it was deemed that BATTLE WINNER had interfered with LOVEONTHELEFTBANK, therefore BATTLE WINNER was disqualified from second and placed fourth prior to the race being declared official.
