GRACE AND GRIT brushed with a rival at the start, settled on the outside, moved closer near the nine-sixteenths pole, ranged up in the three path on the turn, made a bid passing the five-sixteenths pole, took the lead approaching the quarter-pole, kicked clear under a left-handed crop in upper stretch, switched to a right-handed crop outside the sixteenth-pole and proved much the best under steady urging. PRINCESS NY showed speed then showed the way on the outside, was joined on even terms to her inside before the five-eighths pole, vied in the two path on the turn, was asked late on that bend, lost touch with the winner under a drive in upper stretch and proved no match while narrowly able to get the place. ADRIAN dropped back early then settled off the pace, moved closer near the nine-sixteenths pole, was roused in the two then three path on the turn, turned into upper stretch under a drive and finished willingly to just miss the place while clear for the show. THAT'S FUNNY brushed with an opponent at the start, settled on the outside at the rear, was roused in the three then four path on the turn, came into upper stretch under a drive and lacked the needed response. CLOUDY CHANCE stumbled at the start but broke even with the front, pressed the early pace on the inside of the leader, drew even outside the five-eighths pole, vied along the rail on the turn, was asked late on that bend, dropped back into upper stretch and tired. MEZCALIFORNIA was urged along off the pace, moved closer near the five-eighths pole, chased inside on the turn, spun into the stretch in the two path and came up empty.
