CHARLIE CHARMER was hustled from the gate, tracked the pace on the outside, dropped from the four path to the three path early on the turn, ranged up to make a bid outside the five-sixteenths pole, took a short lead under a drive while still on his inside lead in upper stretch, fought with two rivals into the final sixteenth, battled gamely with the runner-up while remaining on his inside lead to the finish and narrowly prevailed under strong urging. HAFU was last away then taken in hand a bit with the left-rein, settled under some urging, was roused in the three path on the turn, gained in the four path into the stretch, made a bid inside the three-sixteenths pole, drifted in under a right-handed crop coming to the furlong marker, fought outside of two opponents into the final furlong, battled with the winner to the finish and was denied while clear for the place. LOUGH CURRANE showed speed between horses then set the pace on the inside of a rival, vied along the rail on the turn, was asked near the five-sixteenths pole, lost the advantage under a drive in upper stretch, fought on into the final sixteenth but was oufinished while able to hold the show. BOOTSY'S A RASCAL was hustled from the gate, bumped with JAMAICA REDD early, pressed the pace on the outside under urging, vied in the three then two path on the turn, dropped back under a drive in upper stretch, moved out just inside the furlong marker and lacked the needed kick. RUMBLYOUNGMANRUMBL brushed the inside of the gate at the start but came out in front, showed speed on the inside of foes then dropped just off the pace near the nine-sixteenths pole, lost more ground on the leader leaving the backstretch, moved from the rail to the two path on the turn and lacked the needed response. GABORONE bumped soundly with JAMAICA REDD at the start, dropped well behind under urging, went around the turn in the three path, came into the stretch in the five path and failed to threaten. JAMAICA REDD bumped soundly with GABORONE at the start, bumped with BOOTSY'S A RASCAL early then was taken in hand in tight quarters, dropped in near the five-eighths pole then chased the pace, moved from the two path to the inside on the turn, remained on his inside lead in the drive and capitulated.
