Footnotes
VERSAILLES ROAD coaxed from the gate, established the front before the first turn and showed the way in hand briefly just off the inside and then along the inside, settled into a comfortable rhythm through sensible splits and showed the way patiently handled until called upon with five-sixteenths to go, took the inside route into upper stretch, edged clear under a drive to the eighth pole, dug in and held well and safe to the finish. GOLD SOVEREIGN tracked the pace along the inside coming under encouragement with five-sixteenths to go, spun just off the inside into upper stretch, closed well and willingly through the final furlong but was ultimately repelled to the wire. ORGONITE a bit fractious in the gate prior to the start, lunged at the break, saved ground in pursuit from mid pack, came under urging at the five-sixteenths marker, took the inside route into upper stretch and offered up a mild kick. CAPRICIOUS OUTCOME broke out at the start and was corrected, chased two to three wide under a ride from the five-sixteenths pole, tipped four wide into upper stretch and stayed on one paced to the end. HEEERE'S JOHNNY two to three wide in pursuit from near the rear of the field, got ridden along with five-sixteenths remaining, angled five wide into upper stretch, offered up a bid but was outkicked. CHESTER BOY saved ground in pursuit from near the rear of the field, came under encouragement with five-sixteenths to run, took the inside route into upper stretch and offered no response. PEAK PERFORMER coaxed from the start, settled tracking the leader in closest aim from the two path, came under urging with five-sixteenths to go, spun three wide into upper stretch and weakened in the final furlong. MORTAL LOCK chased two then three wide under a ride from the five-sixteenths marker, tipped out four wide at the head of the stretch, had no kick. This race had a timing discrepancy or malfunction and was re-timed using video technology to arrive at the most accurate time.
