RIVER RIDE came away in good order, moved in while going to the front, showed the way on the inside with some company, was asked at the quarter-pole, shook clear under a strong hand-ride while remaining on her inside lead in upper stretch, was given a pop of a right-handed crop outside the sixteenth-pole, swapped to the proper lead shortly thereafter and held under steady urging. AMICABLE FARCE was carried in while taken under a snug hold early, tugged keenly on the bit while saving ground just off the pace, took an awkward stride while racing greenly into the far turn, raced inside while let out some on that bend, was put to a drive in upper stretch, tipped out to the two path coming to the furlong marker, rallied to make a bid outside of the winner late but missed while clear for the place.
