HARD CIRCLE went around the first turn in the two path, was rated towards the front on the outside, came under urging in the three path on the far turn, gained to make a bid in upper stretch, took the lead inside the three-sixteenths pole, shook off the runner-up into the final furlong and drew away under steady urging to prove much the best. ROYAL BROWNE went to the front, raced inside on the first turn, showed the way on the inside of rival, vied inside on the far turn, was asked near the quarter-pole then came under a drive in upper stretch, lost the advantage to the winner inside the three-sixteenths pole and proved no match while clear for the place. TAKE A STANCE bumped with an opponent at the start, was taken under a snug hold early, saved ground on the first turn, tossed his head while keen passing the three-quarter pole, was rated just off the pace on the inside, tracked the leader on the far turn, moved to the two path coming to the quarter-pole then made a bid, dropped back in upper stretch and weakened but held the show. RULES OF THE ROAD was hustled from the gate, rounded the first turn in the two path, settled on the outside, was urged along in the three path on the far turn and failed to threaten. KHETAM stumbled at the start, angled in at the rear of the field, settled on the inside, waited at the rear behind a retreating RAGING SEA CAPTAIN near the five-sixteenths pole, was roused while moving out to the four path outside the quarter-pole and also failed to threaten. YOU'RE LOOKIN GOOD raced in the three path on the first turn, settled towards the rear, was roused in the two path on the far turn and was no factor. HONG KONG PHOOEY bumped with a rival at the start, established a forward position early, traveled around the first turn in the two path, prompted the pace on the outside, chased in the two path on the far turn, dropped back in the three path late on that bend and capitulated. RAGING SEA CAPTAIN darted to the rail early, settled on the inside, was urged along on the far turn, saved ground into the stretch and failed to respond.
