Footnotes
MURSAL was well placed just off the pace, drafted inside to the two path on the turn, was roused at the top of the stretch, chased under a drive into the final furlong, gained to make a bid inside of the runner-up outside the sixteenth-pole and got up to prevail under good handling. PROUD FOOT was hustled from the gate, stalked the pace on the outside, inched closer in the four path on the turn, took a short lead into upper stretch, led under a drive to the sixteenth-pole then was headed by the winner, fought on to the finish but just missed while clear for the place. DESPO'S DREAM settled on the outside, was urged along in the two path on the turn, spun into the stretch in the three path then angled out and improved with late energy to get the show. CITY BLOCKS went to the front then showed the way, was urged along in the two path while inside of two opponents for most of the turn then dropped to the rail, lost the advantage into upper stretch, chased into the final furlong, dropped back into the final sixteenth and weakened. SHORT SHIFT pressed the pace while inside of a rival, vied in the three path on the turn, battled under a drive into the final furlong, dropped back into the final sixteenth and tired. EDISTRUDIS settled inside of rivals near the rear under some urging, dropped back under urging passing the nine-sixteenths pole, moved out late on the backstretch, went around the turn in the three path, turned into the stretch in the four path then moved further out and lacked the needed response. JACKSON'S DIXIE settled between horses then inside of a rival, dropped back leaving the backstretch, saved ground on the turn and failed to threaten.
