Footnotes
SEBASTIANTHE FIRST chased the pace on the outside then in the three path on the turn, gained to make a bid outside the five-sixteenths pole, took the lead while asked for his best in upper stretch, shook clear under a right-handed crop outside the furlong marker, switched to a left-handed crop late and held under strong urging. EPITAPH was hustled from the gate then well placed just off the pace, drafted inside on the turn, was asked outside the quarter-pole, chased off the rail in the stretch and willingly earned the place. TYPHOON FURY was urged early then settled off the pace, moved closer in the three then four path on the turn, was roused outside the five-sixteenths pole, chased outside in the stretch and also finished willingly but just missed the place while clear for the show. NANTZ settled at the rear early then was taken under restraint outside the five-eighths pole, was guided around most of the turn in the two path under extra left-rein pressure, shifted to the three path while let out late on that bend, floated into the six path entering the stretch, held a reasonable striking position while outside into the final furlong but lacked the needed kick. EXECUTIVE ORDER was hustled to the front then showed the way, vied inside on the turn, was asked under threat at the five-sixteenths pole, lost the advantage to the winner in upper stretch and gave way. MANHATTAN CHROME was hustled from the gate, chased the pace down the backstretch, went around the turn in the two path, dropped back in the three path into upper stretch and came up empty.
