CARC BROTHERS stumbled at the start recovering outwards and taking over the lane of RULES OF THE ROAD forcing that rival to steady off his heels, tracked along the inside from just off the pace coming under coaxing with five-sixteenths to go, angled five wide into upper stretch, rallied to take command a furlong out, then edged clear to the finish to prevail in course record time. OUTSOURCE got brushed between foes at the start when under pressure from the outside from WAR OFFICER breaking inwards, saved ground in pursuit from mid pack, came under a ride at the five-sixteenths marker, angled out five wide into upper stretch and ran on to secure the place honors. SALT SPARTAN coaxed from the start, showed the way in hand along the inside coming under urging with five-sixteenths to run, spun three wide into upper stretch, yielded the front with three-sixteenths remaining, kept on under a drive to preserve the show honors over a rival on the wire. HARD CIRCLE broke out at the start filling the space left vacant by CARC BROTHERS before being corrected, tracked just off the inside in closest range of the leader coming under urging with five-sixteenths to run, swung four wide into upper stretch, took narrow and brief command with three-sixteenths to go before being collared a furlong out, kept on to the finish but was ultimately bested for the show honors on the line. VINTAGE VINO two to three wide in pursuit from mid pack, came under urging at the five-sixteenths pole, angled seven wide into upper stretch and was outkicked to the finish. FINAL DENILE three then two wide in pursuit from just off the pace, came under urging with five-sixteenths remaining, angled six wide for home, weakened in the stretch. WAR OFFICER broke in at the start brushing OUTSOURCE into RULES OF THE ROAD, chased two to three wide until tucked inside through the far turn, came under coaxing near the quarter pole and cornered just off the inside into upper stretch, offered no response. DREAMS OF ROME two to three wide in pursuit, got ridden along through the latter portion of the turn and went five wide into upper stretch, had no kick. AMERICAN GRANT saved ground near the rear of the field, got coaxed along with five-sixteenths to run, spun just off the inside into upper stretch and made no impact. RULES OF THE ROAD got bumped at the start and steadied off the heels of CARC BROTHERS getting away last, chased along the inside and then just off the inside, before being guided outside under a protective hold nearing five furlongs to run, was eased up and then pulled up, got attended to and vetted on track and was subsequently transported from the turf course via the equine ambulance.
