AFTER TAXES (IRE) broke out at the start, chased four paths off the inside down the backstretch and then just off the inside through the turn coming under coaxing near the quarter pole, swung three to four wide into upper stretch, rallied to take command just inside the eighth pole, edged clear briefly inside that station, then held safe to the finish. MIDDLE MARKET chased three then two wide coming under a ride near the quarter pole, angled five wide into upper stretch, closed well to latch on the top one as he hit the wire. SLAY SADIE SLAY vied briefly with a pair of rivals before taking sole command with nine-sixteenths to go and showed the way three then two wide before tucking inside through the turn, remained patiently handled until roused cutting the corner into upper stretch, dug in under threat and was collared just inside the eighth pole, kept on to the finish to preserve the show honors on the line. HONG KONG PHOOEY coaxed from the start, vied early on before chasing along the inside and then just off the inside under a ride from three furlongs out, angled five wide into upper stretch, offered up a bid a furlong out, then flattened out in the very late stages. SPORTS HERO chased three wide patiently handled until let out angled six wide into upper stretch and offered no response. ARCHIMEDES hustled from the start, vied early on with a pair of rivals before chasing two to three paths off the rail, tucked inside through the turn and was coaxed along from the three-eighths marker, spun just off the inside into upper stretch and weakened.
