Footnotes
STARLIGHT DANCER was rated just off the pace on the inside, tipped to the two path while roused at the quarter-pole, made a bid between horses in upper stretch, took a short lead nearing the eighth-pole, battled with two foes in the final furlong and gamely prevailed under strong urging. PUTONAHAPPYFACE was coaxed to establish a forward position, stalked the pace on the outside in the two path, was asked on the far turn, spun into the stretch in the three path, made a bid inside the three-sixteenths pole then took the lead briefly outside the eighth-pole, battled between horses in the final furlong and missed while narrowly able to get the place. BRILLANTE (FR) was last to commence, raced under stout restraint in the two path on the first turn, was reserved near the back, advanced in the four then three path on the far turn, rallied in the four path into the stretch, made a bid outside of three opponents inside the three-sixteenths pole, drifted in some around the sixteenth-pole, battled outside of the top two to the finish and just missed the place while clear for the show. LESLIE'S STAR went to the front, showed the way on the inside, was asked near the quarter-pole, came out under a drive in upper stretch, lost the advantage outside the furlong marker and weakened. ON A SUMMER DAY was taken under a tight hold then rated in the two path, dropped back some late on the backstretch, was let out in the two path on the final turn, spun into the stretch in the three path and lacked the needed response. Y'ALLREADYFORTHIS established a forward position early, tracked the pace on the outside in the three path without cover, dropped back in the three path on the far turn, moved to the two path outside the quarter-pole and also lacked the needed response. MAXISURE was taken under a strong hold early then reserved on the inside, saved ground through the far turn and failed to respond.
