MINUTE BY MINUTE broke in a step and was coaxed from the gate, advanced after the start to take over the front dueling briefly with MS SOPHISTICATION before that rival eased off a bit to press the issue rather than go head to head, was under pressure showing the way in hand along the inside, came under encouragement at the five-sixteenths as her main rival advanced, took the inside route into upper stretch, dug in under a drive shaking away a bit a furlong out and gamely fended off the runner up to the finish. MS SOPHISTICATION broke in at the start brushing the near side stall, dueled briefly with the aforementioned foe before easing off a bit to press the pace from the two path, came under urging five-sixteenths from home, spun two to three wide into upper stretch, dug in under a drive shaken off a bit a furlong out, dug in gamely to come again near the wire latching on as MINUTE BY MINUTE hit the line and was along clear of the rest and second best. IRRESISTIBLE struck the off side stall at the start, chased four then three wide under a ride from the seven-sixteenths, went eight wide into upper stretch, offered up a mild kick. SHILLING brushed the near side stall at the start, chased along the inside under encouragement from three furlongs out, spun three wide into upper stretch, tipped out under a left handed crop and shied a bit coming out three paths with three-sixteenths to go, then weakened to the finish. SMITTEN broke out a step at the start under coaxing, chased four then three wide down the backstretch before tucking to the two path into the turn, came under coaxing at the seven-sixteenths, swung four wide for home and weakened in the stretch. SQUANDER bobbled at the break, chased just off the inside and then along the inside under a ride from the seven-sixteenths, spun three wide for home and tired. THE HAPPY TREE chased three wide down the backstretch, had EVERYTIMEITHINKOFU tip out to her inside and was nudged four wide at the half mile pole, continued four wide through the turn ridden along from three furlongs out, went seven wide at the head of the stretch and tired. QUALITY SWAG coaxed from the gate, chased four to five wide urged along from the three-eighths pole, continued four to five wide for home and made no impact. EVERYTIMEITHINKOFU chased just off the inside until tipped three wide at the half mile pole nudging THE HAPPY TREE four wide at that station, came under encouragement midway on the turn, angled out six wide into upper stretch and faltered in the drive.
