CARPET CITY saved ground while reserved off the pace, was roused with a clear rail opening in upper stretch, rallied to the lead outside the eighth-pole, went clear under a strong hand-ride into the final furlong, extended the advantage into the final sixteenth, pricked her ears while playing around late and was kept to the task while much the best. J'RAY'S JEWEL settled off the pace, was roused in the three path on the turn, came out to the six path into upper stretch and improved to get the place. SECRET CONNECTION was well placed while rated just off the pace on the inside, moved to the two path while put to a drive in upper stretch, chased into the final furlong and lacked the needed kick while able to get the show. CIAO BABY was restless in the gate, moved up between foes to get the lead then showed the way, raced inside on the turn, was asked at the top of the stretch, came out inside the three-sixteenths pole then lost the advantage to the winner and weakened. COURSIERE bumped soundly with a foe while breaking at the front, settled on the outside, was roused in the four path on the turn, came into the stretch in the five path, remained on her inside lead past the three-sixteenths, was fanned out near the furlong marker and switched to the proper lead then lacked the needed response. TAPPIN MAGIC was rated in the two path while tugging keenly on the bit under stout restraint, rounded the turn in the two path, was asked late on that bend, moved out under a drive in upper stretch, bumped with rivals on both sides outside the furlong marker and weakened. BABY DANCER was antsy in the gate then broke a bit slow, settled near the back, was urged along passing the half-mile pole, went around the turn in the two path, came out while behind horses in upper stretch, came out and bumped with TAPPIN MAGIC near the furlong marker then steadied and failed to rally.
