FOR THREE YEAR OLDS AND UPWARD. Lasix not allowed within 48 hours of post time pursuant to HISA Rule 4212. By subscription of $500 each which should accompany the nomination; $3,750 to pass the entry box and an additional $3,750 to start. For horses not o riginally nominated, a supplemental nomination payment of $2,500 in addition to the entry and starting fees may be made at any time prior to the closing of entries. The Joe Hirsch Turf Classic winner is eligible for a bonus from the Japan Racing Associati on if said winner is selected and runs in the 2026 Japan Cup at Tokyo Racecourse. Three Year Olds: 122 lbs. Older: 126 lbs. Trophies will be presented to the winning owner, trainer and jockey. The New York Racing Association reserves the right to transfer this race to the Tapeta Track. In the event that this race is taken off the turf, it may be subject to downgrading upon review by the Graded Stakes Committee. Closed Thursday, September 10, 2026 with 20 Nominations. MINARET STATION tucked to be three paths off the inside past the stands the first time and continued three wide through the first turn, remained tracking the front three to four paths off the rail down the backstretch behind the cover of PRIDE OF ARRAS, stayed in behind that rival three wide into the far turn until tipped into the clear four wide placed to urging with five-sixteenths to go, continued four wide into upper stretch, rallied to issue a challenge inside the final furlong coming in under a right handed crop inside that station to be alongside EL CORDOBES and then seized command just outside the sixteenth marker before coming in once more under a right handed crop at the sixteenth pole forcing EL CORDOBES to check between foes and brushing with FAR BRIDGE soon after, dug in gamely to prevail safely on the wire. FAR BRIDGE tracked the front just off the inside past the stands and through the first turn before tipping three paths off the rail down the backstretch taking up cover behind EL CORDOBES, tucked inside through the far turn coming under encouragement with five-sixteenths to go, took the inside route into upper stretch, gained clearance just outside the eighth pole and rallied up the inside, dug in under a drive and was brushed a sixteenth out by the aforementioned foe while battling on to the finish to secure the place honors. EL CORDOBES (IRE) raced just off the inside early on through the stretch the initial time and the first turn, tipped three paths off the inside down the backstretch taking up the cover of the leader PROGRAM TRADING, tucked to the two path through the far turn staying behind that rival's cover until tucked inside nearing the quarter pole roused for the drive, seized command in the clear along the inside at that station, dug in under a drive drifting to the two path just outside the eighth pole, dug in under threat from flanking rivals and was caught just outside the sixteenth marker and then forced to check at that station when MINARET STATION came in under a right handed crop, kept on under his own power to preserve the show honors safely on the line. PROGRAM TRADING (GB) established the front and showed the way three paths off the inside through the stretch the first time before tucking to be just off the inside through the clubhouse turn, went back three paths off the rail down the backstretch and remained patiently handled showing the way settled into a comfortable rhythm, tucked back to be just off the inside through the far turn and came under urging near the quarter pole, got displaced from the front spinning just off the inside into upper stretch, weakened in the late stages. ASBURY PARK (GB) lunged at the break getting away last, tracked the front just off the inside from the tail of the field in the clear as rivals remained further out off the rail, continued just off the inside through the far turn and came under urging with five-sixteenths to run, swung three to four wide into upper stretch and weakened. PRIDE OF ARRAS (IRE) three to four paths off the inside past the stands the initial time, went three wide through the first turn and then four paths off the inside down the backstretch in the clear, tucked three wide through the far turn and remained under patient handling until roused spinning three wide at the top of the stretch, then weakened through to the finish. There was a Stewards' Inquiry focused on the first three finishers in deep stretch. After review the result was allowed to stand prior to the race being declared official.
