SMOTED was sent hard from the gate, showed speed on the inside of CREAM PUFF, paused and was eased back in tight quarters with five furlongs to run, drafted inside to the two path on the turn, bumped CREAM PUFF while looking for room into upper stretch, rallied inside to get the lead inside the three-sixteenths pole, kicked clear outside the furlong marker and drew away under steady urging. SO ANGELINA bumped with a rival at the start, chased the pace on the backstretch, drafted in the two to three path on the turn, swung into upper stretch in the five path and safely secured the place while no match for the winner. DRY DRASTIC was urged along towards the front, made a bid with a half-mile to run, vied in the four path on the turn, came in a bit in upper stretch, dropped back into the final furlong and weakened but was clear for the show. B MY LADY was urged along on the outside, moved closer in the four then three path on the turn, chased into upper stretch and tired. CARA'S CHROME raced well back in the field, went around the turn in the three path, came into the stretch in the five path and failed to threaten. JACKPOT JUDY chased the pace on the outside, made a bid near the nine-sixteenths pole, vied in the two to three path on the turn, took a short lead late on that bend, lost the advantage into upper stretch and weakened. MCLIGHT was urged along towards the rear, saved ground on the turn, came into the stretch in the three path, moved out near the furlong marker and was no factor. FRESHLY MINTED dropped back while racing greenly near the five-eighths pole, went around the turn in the two to three path and failed to respond. RISKY MISSION was urged along off the pace, chased in the five path on the turn, spun into the stretch in the six path and capitulated. SOLO BELLE bumped with a rival at the start, dropped back and climbed very greenly near the five-eighths pole, moved out into the turn, went around that bend in the five path, came into the stretch in the six path and never reached contention. CREAM PUFF moved in while showing speed, went clear near the five-eighths pole, raced inside on the turn, lost the lead late on that bend, was bumped and taken a hold of in tight quarters inside the quarter-pole and stopped. EMPIRICAL MARCH refused at the start and stayed in the gate then was walked off. FOLLOWING THE RACE, THE RIDER OF CREAM PUFF CLAIMED FOUL AGAINST THE WINNER ALLEGING INTERFENCE NEAR THE QUARTER=POLE. THERE WAS ALSO A STEWARDS' INQUIRY INTO THE START. AFTER THE REVIEW, NO CHANGE WAS MADE TO THE ORDER OF FINISH
