MYSTIK BAYOU was recalcitrant behind the gate, tracked the pace on the outside, went around the turn in the two to three path, took the lead while asked into upper stretch, shook clear under a drive nearing the furlong marker and drew away under steady urging to prove much the best. TAP OUR WAY stumbled at the start then brushed with ELECTION HERO, moved up to establish a good position in third, saved ground for most of the turn, angled out to the four path while asked late on that bend, came into the stretch in the five path then made a bid, lost touch with the winner into the final furlong and proved no match while well clear for the place. ELECTION HERO hit the outside of the gate then brushed with TAP OUR WAY, dropped well behind under urging, moved from the rail to the three path on the turn, swung out to the six path into the stretch, was pulled in by the rider to elicit a lead change near the three-sixteenths pole while under a left-handed crop, drifted in when flagged with a right-handed crop inside the furlong marker and was along for the show. LE PATRON was urged along off the pace, went around the turn in the three then four path and lacked the needed response. MYSTRIX went to the front and showed the way, raced inside on the turn, was asked outside the five-sixteenths pole, lost the advantage while in the two path into upper stretch and faded. SQUADRON chased the pace on the outside, dropped back with six furlongs to run, went around the turn in the two path and retreated. OBLITERATED had the rider reach down to adjust his left iron early, settled off the pace, was roused leaving the backstretch, saved ground on the turn and failed to respond.
